Beautiful quilting, Johnni! I've come here to respond to your comment on my blog (Confessions of a Fabric Addict) because you come through as a no-reply blogger. I didn't have any trouble quilting these batiks, but I think they were pre-washed because they didn't shrink up very much and they were very soft and flexible. Another thing you might try is a longer-staple thread or a polyester thread - might keep the fabric from shredding your thread. What kind of machine do you have?
Thank you, Sarah - and I found the setting to change so replies can happen now! I have an older gammill. I mostly use thread from connectingthreads - it is a good thread, I love the price and color variety - but it is not a great thread. Your suggestion about a longer-staple thread is a great idea - been thinking I should use King Tut on batiks.
